I Thought I Was Weird
Anna, wow, thank you for this podcast. I grew up with Emetephobia and panic attacks but NOBODY understood me. My parents just thought I was crazy and told me to stop worrying and doctors told them it was PMS. It grew worse in my adulthood as I began having children (germs!) and they would get the stomach virus. I was spinning out of control. Here I am at 49, not recovered but definitely under control. Now I have an 8 yr old girl with Emetophobia and severe anxiety. She restricts her food and is afraid to be away from me. She and my current husband had no idea I suffered from this and so seeing my little girl with the exact same phobia was devastating to me. We’re working with a therapist and you’re podcast is an enormous help!!! I am so grateful to you for starting this and helping bring awareness into the world. Thank you. Tina
