Presenting DISGRACELAND - George Harrison: Surviving the Beatles, the London Drug Squad, and a Home Invasion
We've paired this Disgraceland episode on George Harrison with About A Girl's episode on Patti Boyd. To learn more about Disgraceland, visit disgracelandpod.com.
George Harrison famously survived the dissolution of the Beatles, a bust by London’s drug squad, a potentially bloody visit from the Hell’s Angels, and a few rounds with cancer. But on the final day of the 20th century, his strength and faith were put to the ultimate test. A crazed fan, convinced that the Beatles were evil and George was a sorcerer who had possessed him, broke into George’s Friar Park estate in the dead of night with one goal: to murder George Harrison.

Suze Rotolo and Bob Dylan
The mysterious woman on the cover of the breakthrough album ‘The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan’ was a major influence on the legendary musician’s development, just as he was becoming “Bob Dylan.” He assimilated her art, influences, and politics into his persona and his songs, so many of which were written about or for her. They were intensely in love at a very young age in a time of social upheaval, all in the cauldron of Greenwich Village, and it forged and tested them both in myriad ways.

Customer Reviews
Wow.
I’m late to the party on this one, but it’s my new favorite. Love all the stories and the way they’re delivered!
Would be Bride of the Lizard King
I loved Eleanor’s precious account Pamela Courson. It was a lovely de-vilification of the young lady who was, but never was, Jim Morrison’s wife.
Voice is terrible
Amazing stories, well written, part of the Badlands and Disgraceland universe… all RUINED by this ridiculously awful voice which is even worse for the million different cuts for seemingly every line. Stories should be told by storytellers, and this ain’t it. Shame.
