Our guest, Dr. Allan Besselink, PT, DPT, PhD, Dip. MDT is an Associate Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin, TX. He teaches gross anatomy to first-year physiotherapy students and maintains a clinical practice that applies MDT to a sports population. Allan graduated with a B.Sc.PT from Queen’s University (Canada) in 1988 and completed his DPT at the College of St. Scholastica (MN) in 2016. A McKenzie Diplomat, he also runs a clinical practice specializing in MDT for sports populations. Dr. Besselink holds a Ph.D. in Education, with research focused on cognitive structure, knowledge organization, and competency-based education. He completed his Ph.D. in Education with a specialization in Learning, Instruction, and Innovation in 2021. His primary research interests include cognitive structure, knowledge organization, expertise, and competency-based education.
