EP 18 - Vulnerability is Dope. Mental Health & Making Diabetes your Own with Jiggy Yoon

Keeping It 100 Radio: Uncensored Diabetes Conversations

Trigger warning: Suicide-attempt mentioned inside of this episode.

A diagnosis of type one diabetes comes with a large mental load, especially with an adult onset.

Inside this episode, I sit down with Jiggy Yoon who has been a personal friend of mine for years (and years to come). Jiggy is the only Korean, lesbian, hip-hop dancing and rapping Type 1 Diabetic girl-who-lifts with tattoos, piercings who speaks so boldly of vulnerability. We sit down and talk about the events leading up to her diagnosis that made handling type one diabetes even more difficult, how she chose to move forward and how she is rising above it all now.
