Welcome to episode twenty-six of Hell Has an Exit Podcast with Bryan Alzate. On today’s episode, Bryan sits down with Renee. The two discuss a variety of topics, including: Being first introduced to drugs by her father, the trauma induced by the unimaginable things he did to her and her siblings, and a grueling 27 year run on the streets which consisted of a harrowing crack addiction, prostitution, and federal indictments.
As a child Renee recalls being raped by her father and shares how he would force her and her siblings to perform sexual acts on each other. They discuss the profound psychological effects this had on her, and the role it all played in keeping her in the trenches of an almost 3-decade long addiction.
It was a long time before some deep family secrets would be revealed, and it wasn’t until then that Renee was able to understand why she was driven on a self-destructive rampage of drugs and alcohol. Listen to her story of incredible resilience and total success, as she shares her difficult journey leading up and out to victory and proves once again that - Hell does have an exit.
