Dope conversation with Caazena P. Hunter. Caazena Hunter is the Director of Program Design for Young Leaders Strong City. She holds a dual B.A. in Spanish and Sociology, with an International Studies Certificate, from the University of Tulsa, and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of North Texas. She co-authored Race and Reciprocity: Inter-household Exchanges in a Multiracial Neighborhood.

Caazena began her career as a teaching fellow at the University of North Texas, which led to her teaching various Sociology courses at colleges and universities throughout the DFW Metroplex. She has a passion for learning, as well as teaching. She taught elementary Spanish, worked as a Research Analyst, census enumerator, and financial coach. She led the implementation of a community college based family financial center, and assisted in development and implementation of a Financial Coaching Institute training financial coaches on financial education, financial coaching, as well as cultural humility as it pertains to finances. Caazena, recently transitioned from her role as the Head of Community Engagement for Change Machine.

Finally, Caazena is a lover of art, travel, music and food. She has always considered herself an aunt extraordinaire with ten nieces and nephews, and four great nieces and nephew, and a pandemic issued puppy niece named Free.
