Episode 10: Habit for Family Visits

The Habit Lab

Jenna talks about a Habit she instituted almost 2 years ago that has changed family visits/trips; in fact it made SUCH a difference- she started the same habit for friend trips too. <SCROLL down for list of the questions she asks.>

After realizing how often disconnect during family visits happened due to unvocalized expectations ; Jenna made a habit of asking her family.

------Family Visit Questions -----

  1. What are you hopes for this trip?  (looking for general answers: connection; rest; traditions; celebration; etc)
  2. What are few wish lists things you'd like to do during our visit?  (ie- Mom & daughter brunch; Aaron & his dad going to a movie; solo grandkid dates)
  3.  What's your #1 thing you'd like to happen?

She then builds a general trip flow where everyone's represented & sends it out as a group message so everyone is on the same page.
It's not a RIGID schedule to add busy to the visits- it's a loosely held flow so we're all on the same page & to help prevent disconnect while all together.
