Episode 154: Glorious Purpose w/ Andre Burkley and the Superhero adventure Pantheon

Happy Black History Month, and to kick off February I sit with Andre Burkley to speak about the coming of age superhero tale Pantheon under his imprint Omni Comics. Its the story of Ashton Adams, a child with his morals in check and a heart of gold, who amongst bullies and an unforgiving tragedy gets chosen by an entity by the name of Veil who has waited for hundreds of years to finally find the Protector of the Omniverse. The Universe used to be under the care of 12 Deities until one choses to overthrow his other brothers and sisters in his quest for power. This leads to 6 escaping and creating Veil who is given a mission to find the next protector. Episode 153: Melodic Enchantment w/ Rick Quinn & Dave Chisholm of Spectrum #1-2 for Mad Cave Studios

Today I finally get to speak about a book from Mad Cave Comics that I've obsessed over for the past 2 months as I sit with Rick Quinn & Dave Chisholm and their Cosmic Musical Supernatural (wait, that's too many adjectives) tale of 2 characters one in each issue: Melody Parker and Ada Latimer. Melody is conflicted by loss living on the streets of Seattle during the WTO Protests with nothing but her Sony Walkman when her reality starts to bend and a world between her world starts to appear. Clueless by what she is seeing, we then get transported to a time of Jazz and early Rock n Roll. We come to find the Melody was at one point a prodigy in music, but the loss of her mother made her lose her way. A mysterious character named Echo seems to know that Melody holds the solution to a secret war within the world. Issue 2 brings us Ada Latimer, a record store owner who similarly is also dealt with the disappearance of her Father. A former Musician, who after his first album vanished when she was a child. She describe her fathers music as eclectic and maybe before its time. Ada inherited his record collection and with every chord played she is taken to a place where she is closer to him. Her Boyfriend Theo, a strange character persona himself makes her life seem normal. Until Echo presents herself to take Ada in the same manner as she did Melody. A thriller nonetheless, but embolden in those who love music. Today I sit down with Nigel Lynch of Beyond Caribbean Publishing/Wise Acre Comics to discuss the origin story of Tala a young Mercenary whom I read as a part of his first book we covered Critical Ops Task Force. We come to find her story as a child growing homeless with her sister until she was caught in the web of Human Trafficking. As I've come to know her through the previous project the innocence and adolescence of this child is pried away and rips her sister from her. Episode 151: I'm not your Superhero w/ Jeff Schiller and the Slacker Anthology-Public Defender

In this satire based Anthology we asked the question, How would your life change if you were bitten by a Radioactive Lawyer. Jeff Schiller, Creator of Magic Powder the Fantasy based tale of Elves dealing in organized crime and Elf with no Name creates 16 stories with a slew of artists that begs just because I look like a Superhero doesn't mean that I am one. All while parading through a bong filled life with either his good friend Godman who resembles Aaron Judge and has the power of you guessed it GOD or his ex-girlfriend the aptly named BUZZKILL. Episode 150: The Treacherous Kingdom w/ Frederick Littles of Wise Acre Comics and the African Epic Blood Wars

Happy 2025 and The Faqs Project hits our 150th episode with a return to the pod with Frederick Littles of Wise Acre Comics to speak on his newly funded book on Kickstarter by Ayodele Elegba based on the Bini Kingdom known in the Southern portion of Nigeria. In this genre bending tale of Historical Fantasy we meet a Warrior named Jubah, half human and half spirit on a quest to reclaim his rightful throne and uncover the dark secrets threatening his Kingdom. Since our last discussion which introduced to Wise Acre Comics flagship book Magnus that is now in its 6th issue of production. Frederick Littles has become the President of Godhood Comics known for their smash comic The Antagonists and now with Blood Wars he reaches across the Atlantic to Nigeria to collaborate with Spoof Animation which created a full trailer to accompany the book.
