Episode #24: Using Tech to Retain Attendance in Schools with Doreen Micheal, Founder of Renotify

According to the We are Family Foundation, only 3% of Tanzania’s students remain in school for the final two years of their education, and the student to teacher ratio is very high, making it extremely difficult for teachers to focus on individual attendance and performance. Experiencing this issue in her classroom and knowing what the harm of skipping school is in her community, Doreen Micheal, a 17-year-old native of Tanzania, specifically Dar es Salaam, decided to take action through tech. She developed Renotify, a website in which the goal is to increase student retention in schools.
