Episode 4 - Step 1 - Emergency Protocol

Emergency Protocol

On today’s episode Denise and Jackie share the first of their Twelve Steps reimagined, “We are not okay. We have not been okay. We are not getting better on our own.”

Admitting to ourselves that life has become unmanageable is no easy task, but is absolutely necessary to becoming a better version of ourselves. Denise and Jackie talk about how step one is really grounded in surrender and discuss who and how we lean on others to help us at this step.

Finding or rebuilding your social life while navigating step one is necessary for anyone using the Twelve Steps. Denise shares how she let go of the friends she could no longer surround herself with and Jackie shares how she found a social circle that made her feel seen, supported and grounded.

Denise and Jackie also talk about what life really looks like when it is unmanageable, comparing yourself to others, and navigating social anxiety. Sharing real stories, lessons learned and uncontrollable giggles along the way, make sure to tune in this week for Emergency Protocol.
