    12. | Stop Owning It

We need to talk about ownership of sickness, illness, and disease. Many times, when I am talking to people, they will say, “my cancer,” “my tumor,” “my asthma,” “my allergies.” They have already decided, subconsciously or not, they own it. Maybe they did not make the outward decision, but they think it’s “my headache,” “my cancer,” or “my sickness.”

So, rather than saying, “my headache,” you could say, “the headache.” Rather than saying, “my cancer,” you can say, “the cancer.”
I challenge you this week to jot down notes if you catch yourself saying those ugly things.

    Confession Series | God's Promises | 7

God's Promises are Good. He is a Good Father. Now, take possession of them!

    You are a good Father.

You are my God who keeps his word.

    You do not lie.

You are faithful throughout all generations.

    You have overcome the world.

    You love me.

In you, I have peace, freedom, no condemnation, and blessings.

    You rescue and defend.

You brought me the good news.

    You bind up my broken-heart.

    You release from darkness.

    You are my comfort.

You give me a crown of beauty instead of ashes,

The oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair

I will be called an oak of righteousness for Your glory.

Instead of my shame I will receive a double

portion, and instead of disgrace I will rejoice in your

    inheritance.

And so I will inherit a double portion in my land, and everlasting joy will be mine.

You are for me not against me.

No weapon formed against me can prosper.

You have plans to prosper me, not to harm me.

Your kindness leads me to repentance.

    You are love.

You live in me. You are my source.

You have filled me with the same power that raised Christ from the dead.

Greater are you that is in me than he that is in the world. My words have the power of life and death.

I do not allow words of death to be spoken out of my mouth.

Father, help me take possession of all your promises because you are worthy.

    Confession Series | Blessed | 7

    You are blessed!

All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.

You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.

The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.

The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him.
Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you.

The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.

The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.

Confession Series | Called to be Their Mom | 6

Parenting is hard - this mom thing has it's ups and down - it's mistakes and victories, but no matter what, remember that YOU are called to be their mom and you already have what it takes! You got this mom!

    Confession:

"I am called to be a mom.

I am capable of leading the hearts of my children in love rather than in fear of punishment.

I'm completely fulfilled in the love of Christ.

    I lack nothing.

I encourage, build up, and plant Truth in my children.

My spirit is gentle, kind, and patient.

My children obey me because they love me, not because they're afraid of me!

    I speak life-giving, encouraging words.

    I don't keep a record of wrongs.

    I forgive and forget quickly.

I love and laugh loud rather than fight and take offense.

    I don't engage in strife.

    Joy is my strength.

    Daily, I pray for them.

My life is not a dress rehearsal.

I have one shot at raising disciplined children who love God.

My Father is fixing all my mess ups.

I am called to be their mom!"
