A Glen Burnie man pleaded guilty to federal dog fighting charges. Amazon issued a rare scam warning for Amazon Prime members. The City of Annapolis has outlawed plastic bags in most instances, that takes effect in January. And Annapolis is on it's way to banning drive-thrus in the City to make it more pedestrian friendly. The Annapolis Police Chief has suspended two officers after they brought mismanagement complaints to the Mayor's attention. Our poll says that most people do not have confidence in APD's leadership. UMBWMC got some love from US News & World Report as well and they came in at number five. AMFM is bringing Pink Floyd to the next In The Vane of series scheduled for September. Major league soccer is coming to Annapolis at the end of the month. And we have tickets to two shows at Rams Head On Stage to give away today for Ticket Tuesday plus tickets to the Annapolis Rotary's Crab Feast!

As we wrap up our series on real estate, today we speak with Olivia Surge of Abode Title & Escrow.
The third piece, when it comes to buying a home, happens in the background for the most part. The title company investigates the history of the property to make sure there are no unexpected surprises for the buyer. Olivia explains what can go wrong, like a seller taking out a last-minute loan on the house and defaulting, resulting in a lien on the house. Unpaid trash bills. A renovation without a permit. Many things can pop up, and that is where a title company comes in.

Along with that is title insurance which should be mandatory when you are considering one of your largest assets. There's a lot to unpack here, but I can say I am much more informed than I was three weeks ago!
