Conan O’Brien really needs a friend. But does he need a podcast? Turns out he does. If only to find that friend. Conan's bringing his favorite celebrity guests by the studio for some friendly conversations. In the meantime, he is joined by his dependable assistant Sona Movsesian, in an attempt to figure out why a venerable TV legend like himself might want to start a podcast in the first place. Is it really for the friendship, or just the fortune and glory? Or is it maybe to show everyone else just how wrong they’ve been doing it up to now? Weekly episodes start this fall. I generally stay away from celebrity podcasts and want to support independent ones. I was tired of politics and news and needed to laugh. I loved Conan back in the day. I fell in love with this pod immediately. I love hearing all the great SNL stories. It’s really Sona who is the glue. Would not be the same without her. Jimmy’s guitar is awesome.

Not Conan’s Brother

My commute to work is an hour each way, but having this podcast and knowing there are people like poor Sona who have it so much worse than I do has cured me of my desire to drive into oncoming traffic.

Conan has some cool guests and interesting interviews, but that’s only 50% of the show. The initial first half is mostly Conan yelling at full volume as loud as he can because he thinks the louder he yells the funnier he is. Interestingly, someone like Robin Williams who is 10 times funnier than he is doesn’t do that.
