Nkwo Onwuka is a seasoned sustainability expert in the African creative industry. She is devoted to promoting a positive image of Africa and the unique interpretations of its rich history and traditions through design. She launched her brand, NKWO, in 2012. NKWO is an artisanal brand at the forefront of sustainability and social innovation in the Nigerian fashion industry. The brand creates artisanal and limited-edition pieces from second-hand denim, made in Nigeria cotton, end-of-line fabric, cutting table waste and single use plastic. The brands core values include textile waste reduction, environmental conservation, traditional craft skill preservation, innovation and women empowerment.
