First time listening to this podcast. Eight minutes into it and I just couldn’t take it any longer. Get to the topic or at least stop rambling on and on about nothing. Maybe their show gets better, but these first moments were a total waste of time. Nope.

There was a ridiculous amount of pretentious animosity on the part of Steve. Do some research and cite it please. Netflix had nothing to do with the doc. Not only that, but Standing received no compensation from Netflix nor any of the other streaming services that are now streaming it. This was the most counter productive take on the subject I have heard. Whether or not the footage is legitimate or not, I must remain objective until otherwise proven. at least he is out there on the ground doing SOMETHING. However, in the context of this episode, you have only accomplished showing everyone what is wrong with the entirety of Fortean and paranormal research: The lack of unity, the prevalence of giant egos, and infighting. Maybe, if people had each other’s backs; regardless of ones assumptions of one another, there might be some advancement in these fields. Les Stroud gives the guy the benefit of the doubt as does Meldrum. If you look at the mans financials you would find that not only has he not profited one bit from any of his Sasquatch related endeavors, he has gone way into the red. Also, “skeptic” refers to when he was at university and doing a project for his biology class, he set out to prove that there was no ecological niche for Sasquatch and therefore could not exist. During his research for that is when his outlooked changed. because, he supposedly encountered the creature, which changed his whole outlook. And to your question of what is his appeal. there is no appeal. other than Stroud and Meldrum he has no fans from my observations, absolutely everyone else on every podcast, tv show, etc has the same opinion as you with just as much viciousness. I am by no means a fan, I am just a guy who wants to carry on old fashioned journalistic ideals and keep everything objective. All things must be held to the burden of proof and all individuals are innocent until proven guilty. It grinds my gears that we live in a world where in every form of journalistic or educational endeavors be it print, internet, podcasts, radio, and tv, everyone is guilty until proven innocent. Not only that, the finger pointers are so vicious about it, we find ourselves in an era of 21st century witch hunts(yes I expect your Trump comparison joke here). To make a timely reference if The wizarding world of Harry Potter were a real thing, at this time Muggles would be rounding up witches and wizards and throwing them into concentration camps. It scares the crap out of me that I feel people in the Fortean community and other communities would if they could scream “witch” at Standing or Everyone at to the stars academy and send them to something akin to Dokkau or Auswich. (Yes I’m sure there is a spelling error). There is nothing wrong with criticism, pointing out shortcomings, or even poking fun for the sake of entertainment. I had hoped your show would be a good addition to the growing field of Fortean podcasts. But, both of you literally wished harm upon another human being for( if he did hoax anything) something so trivial that it matters not, even in the lowest level of the grand scheme of things. Nothing he has done has affected you, yours, or any of us in any way, shape or form. Yet, you have condemned this fellow as if he swindled your grandmother’s life savings, then voiced scenarios you feel would be appropriate and violent “come up-ins” for him. And for that gentleman, you are disgusting human beings more so than he if your assumptions of him prove true. As such I don’t wish you to be violently ripped apart by Sasquatch, to trip off a cliff, or put in an internment camp. A one star review will do, at worst cancellation of your podcast. Though I hope you take the criticism to heart and use it to make yourselves and your show better, rather than what I expect will be a miserable hate filled mocking response to me. Expected because that is the general response to negative criticism online, the proverbial troll response, not any assumption upon you as individuals. I would like to extend the benefit of the doubt that you are above such discourse. My words are in no way an attack on your persons just an observation and a scary statement on where we are as a society, because the behavior I am pointing out is by no means exclusive to you. It is a sad state of affairs and one that needs to change. Be the change in yourselves set the example for the rest.
