    Steve Torma

Y'all, Steve Torma is an absolute treasure! My marriage and children are so happy I found him. Co-founder of the REAL Center in Woodfin, NC, he brings such gentle, loving, passionate wisdom to his relationship trainings. He makes the point that most of our life is spent in relationship with very little time spent learning how to relate.

As a holistic health practitioner and former massage therapist, I personally love how much of his approach includes education on the human nervous system, our primal nature, and why we react, respond, and filter information the way we do. The tragic conflicts we witness within ourselves and throughout our world are largely the result of our natural physiology. If we are going to learn to develop sovereignty over our nervous systems, aka self-regulate, a good first step is understanding and recognizing these impulses. This is a big part of my personal mission to help us evolve before we kill each other! No sarcasm here. It's time to get to work.

I'm honored to share Steve with you via this podcast! Happy listening, friends.

    Robin Lewis Interviews ME!

    Robin Lewis Interviews ME!

    Hey Good People!
I thought it would be fun to introduce myself and share my life path as it relates to my passion for the work of Compassionate Communication. In this episode, my friend and Asheville musician, Robin Lewis, asks me the same questions I have been asking my guests. I get pretty vulnerable and revealing as this is both in my nature and what I believe many people are yearning for in a day and age when we can literally shop, make phone calls, pay bills, and work without having any human connection at all. Most of us put our best faces forward when sharing on social media platforms and, while it's wonderful to have forums for celebrating the joys in our lives, we all know it can leave us comparing ourselves and feeling lonely in our struggles. The energy I brought to this podcast, which I hope comes through to you, is that of authenticity, humbleness, gratitude, empowerment, and the joy of growth, learning, and connection. I hope you enjoy it!

    Gina Mashburn Heath

After experiencing an abusive marriage, Gina Mashburn was introduced to Nonviolent Communication and embarked on a way of relating that would become the heartbeat of her career, approach to her current healthy marriage, child rearing, and life as a whole.

In this episode I interview empath extraordinarie, Dr. Gina Mashburn Heath, co-founder of Radiant Wholeness Coaching and director of The Purpose Collective here in Asheville, North Carolina. I love this juicy conversation! Enjoy.

    Billy Mizejewski

    Billy Mizejewski

Billy Mizejewski is a tattoo artist and owner of Heron Mark Tattoo and Gallery, a lovely studio in West Asheville, North Carolina. When some less-than-compassionate communication from an employee started a social media frenzy that could have reflected poorly on his business, Billy posted a video on Facebook owning what happened, cleaning up, and going the extra distance to affect change in his community. I live a couple of blocks from the studio and was so stoked to learn I had a kindred spirit around the corner wanting to communicate differently. In this interview we discuss Nonviolent Communication, Nervous System regulation, and how we imperfectly practice having empathy for ourselves and others.

Many thanks to Ani DiFranco for permission to use Evolve!

Oops! I accidentally called Heron Mark Tattoo,  Mark Heron Tattoo.
