John continues to unpack the big idea of “What is your baseline?” As we’re coming into the week of Thanksgiving, no doubt stressors and tensions can go through the roof. Not a fun fact is that domestic disputes and crime within the family unit jumps during the holidays. As you plan for the season ahead, we want to offer some tools which will not only help keep you from blowing your top, but also help you come into a headspace to enjoy the spirit of the holidays!

Everything we do at Life that Counts is to help others, especially students, make better decisions for more healthy lives! When we know better, we end up doing better.

Setting healthy boundaries is one of the character traits of a lasting relationship, but what do you do when you live at odds with your own self-worth? In this episode, John discusses how establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries not only protects you, but it also protects those who you love and care for the most.

    Are you angry 😡

    Are you angry 😡

Ever heard someone say, "Wow, that really looks great on you!"  Chances are, they didn't say it about a time you demonstrated an anger outburst or some other unfiltered comment from a heated and frustrating moment.

Of all the emotions, anger is probably the one that gets the worst rap.  That's probably due to its nature for being destructive.

During this show, John discusses how anger can rob us of our joy and our ability to be productive.

    Co-Regulation and Co-Rumination

    Co-Regulation and Co-Rumination

Regulation is the masterful art of maintaining a healthy composure when you face a stressful situation, event, or circumstances which could cause you to have an amygdala, or as I've come to call it, an emotional hijack.   The ability to regulate gives your best thinking self the opportunity to shine in the moments that matter most.

In this episode, you'll hear the contrast between rumination and regulation, and how sleep plays a critical role in your daily production, output, and ultimate successes.
