Like Serial but actually culturally relevant
While Serial launched the true crime/investigatory podcast format, it was at its heart a podcast about children, which is embarrassing. Blackout Dates stands on and strengthens Sarah Koenig’s shoulders to bring us a story that actually MATTERS. Something we can all relate to, something we can all get invested in. I find myself “reverse Garfielding” (i.e counting down the days until Monday) so I can listen to the next episode. Humor, intrigue, suspense: this show has it all.
