12 Lessons On Reactive Attachment Disorder

12 Lessons On Reactive Attachment Disorder

Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) is a rare but serious condition that can develop in children who have experienced severe or prolonged neglect or deprivation of caregiving during their early developmental years. RAD is characterized by a persistent pattern of emotionally withdrawn, unresponsive, or resistant behavior towards caregivers, leading to significant impairment in social relationships and emotional development. Children with RAD may have difficulty forming healthy attachments and may show little interest in interacting with others, leading to difficulties in forming friendships, engaging in social activities, and developing normal emotional responses. Symptoms of RAD typically emerge before the age of five and can persist into adulthood if not treated. Treatment for RAD usually involves a combination of psychotherapy, family therapy, and specialized care that is tailored to the individual's specific needs. Learn more in this episode.

31 Tips On Reproductive Abuse (Coersion)

31 Tips On Reproductive Abuse (Coersion)

As women, we have the power to take control of our bodies and our reproductive choices. However, all too often, we allow others to make those choices for us, and in some cases, those choices can lead to reproductive abuse.

Reproductive abuse is a form of domestic violence in which an abuser uses reproductive coercion to control their partner. This can include sabotaging birth control, pressuring their partner to have children, or even forcing them to have an abortion.

But we don't have to be victims of reproductive abuse. We can be proactive and take steps to protect ourselves and our reproductive choices. The first step is to educate ourselves about the signs of reproductive abuse and to recognize that it is not acceptable behavior in any relationship.

We can also take control of our own birth control by using methods that cannot be tampered with, such as condoms or long-acting reversible contraceptives. We should also have open and honest conversations with our partners about our reproductive goals and boundaries, and be firm in our decisions.

Above all, we should never compromise our own bodily autonomy for the sake of a relationship. We have the right to make our own choices about our bodies and our reproductive health, and we should never allow anyone to take that away from us.

So let us be proactive and take control of our own reproductive choices. Let us stand up for ourselves and refuse to be victims of reproductive abuse. By doing so, we can reclaim our power and live our lives on our own terms.
