She has graduated business school, worked on Wall Street, and has been featured in Playboy, Nylon, Bon Appetit, StyleLikeU, and was one of BK Magazine’s 50 Most Fascinating People of 2022. She has modeled for brands like Sephora, Mercedes Benz, Madewell, and Instagram, and she is the author of A Recipe for More, her debut book which launched May 2023.

While it might seem harmless and dumb on the surface, trad wife culture is deeply rooted in pronatalism. If you’re not familiar with the term, pronatalism is the policy or practice of promoting childbirth or encouraging people to have children. Today, pronatalism & pronatalist policies are on the rise all around us — from ads on television to the decisions from the Supreme Court. So, today we’re giving you an introductory lesson on pronatalism — the origins, the consequences, and what we can do about it.

Surviving A Cult & Childhood Torture (With Nonprofit Founder Ali Davis)
Today we are honored to be joined by Ali Davis, a cult and childhood torture survivor. Ali grew up under Bill Gothard's teachings (otherwise known as the fundamentalist Christian cult portrayed in ‘Shiny Happy People’). Due in large part to Ali’s childhood experiences, she is now in her early 30s and childfree by choice. Ali is passionate about raising awareness of non-war related childhood torture and is the founder and Executive Director of the pretti graffiti foundation — the first and only nonprofit in the US dedicated to securing humanitarian aid for other survivors.

Marcia also revealed her childfree status on national television in 1974 on a segment of ‘60 Minutes.’ We’ll be asking her about her choice to remain childfree — and finding out if she has any regrets today.

More than great instagram content
I found this podcast from instagram, Dinkypod. While I knew it was the instagram for a podcast, it took me forever to listen to an episode. But I’m so glad I did! Slowly listening through the older episodes, my favorite has been the wealth management and financial planning episode.
DINKing Saves Lives
I love the pod. It’s the perfect balance between hilarious and educational. I feel like I learn so much and get to laugh with my parasocial phone friends about cheese grottos and red lobster. The ladies have kept me highly entertained through a lot of medium distance relationship driving. But what finally got me to post a review is that I was texting my child free bestie about DINKing myself at urgent care, thinking I had strep but figuring I’d ~splurge~ on covid and flu rapid tests while I was there, and surprise! I had the flu!
Without Dinky, I’d be more bored, less educated, and utterly Tamiflu-less. Thank you for everything!
