However, Welch soon takes police on a dark and murky path that leads to him becoming the prime suspect in the girls' disappearance. Chances are if you had any leading theories about this case in the previous episode, they'll pro...

    7: Ed Gein

6: Patty Hearst: From Heiress to Hostage to Outlaw

In the 50th year since the kidnapping of heiress Patricia Hearst by the Symbionese Liberation Army, and the resulting crime spree that shocked the nation, we can acknowledge the vintage pedigree of the case. But was she truly a villain? She was certainly portrayed that way throughout her saga in the mid-1970s, but two US Presidents would intervene on her behalf, and she would go on to become a centerpiece on discussions of accountability, brainwashing, and Stockholm Syndrome. Pertaining to th...

A History Class You Don't Want to Skip

When it comes to "True Crime" podcasts there's so much to choose from. While there are plenty of quality shows, none quite meet the mark that Allison has curated in her little corner of the internet. She's created a space to not only share the villianous legacies of days gone by, but she also makes sure to paint a vibrant picture of how the world was working during the period. It's easy to forget that things weren't always as they are now, and to be transported back in time by her masterful crafting helps enhance the stories of real-life bad guys. And, of course I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Ms. Dickson has a velvety, smooth tone that draws you in, and makes you want to hear more, more, more of her history lessons. I'm looking forward to the adventures to come, and am firmly planted in my Vintage Villains Era. Thank you for sharing your gift with us!
