MURDER: Las Cruces Bowling Alley Massacre

MURDER: Las Cruces Bowling Alley Massacre

On the morning of February 10, 1990, two armed men entered a Las Cruces, New Mexico bowling alley. They rounded up the two employees and two young girls that were already inside, and forced them all into the main office. Minutes later, another employee arrived with his two daughters and they were also taken into the office. The gunmen then shot all seven people multiple times and set the office on fire before fleeing the bowling alley.

Remarkably, three victims survived and later helped create detailed sketches of the two gunmen. But, even with the sketches, the gunmen remain unidentified to this day. It’s been more than 33 years since the Las Cruces Bowling Alley Massacre occurred, and investigators are still searching for the men responsible…

Anyone with information should call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go to NMCrimeStoppers.org. There is a reward available.

On the morning of March 24, 2003, Melinda McGhee, a 31 year old Licensed Practical Nurse, finished working the night shift at an Alabama nursing home. After getting home at around 8:30 am, Melinda called her husband, Troy, who was at work. Before getting off the phone, Melinda said she was going to sleep until Troy and their kids returned home later that day.

On the evening of August 21, 1989, Norman Ladner, a 17 year-old high school student, went hunting on his family’s property in Picayune, Mississippi. When Norman didn’t return by 7:00 pm, his parents grew concerned and went looking for him. Ultimately, Norman was found in the woods, dead from a single gunshot wound to the temple. A coroner and a medical examiner ultimately ruled that Norman had committed suicide. However, his parents have adamantly denied this possibility, and maintain that he was murdered. It’s been over 34 years since Norman died, and his loved ones are still searching for answers... If you have any information on Norman’s death, please call the Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers: 1-877-787-5989.

MISSING / MURDER: Sarah Graham and Katelyn Kelley

MISSING / MURDER: Sarah Graham and Katelyn Kelley

On the morning of February 4, 2015, 18-year-old Sara Graham didn't show up for her morning shift at Walmart in Pembroke, North Carolina. A few hours later, her van was found abandoned in a field halfway between Walmart and her home in Fairmont, North Carolina. There were no signs of a struggle, and the doors were locked manually. Despite a thorough investigation, Sara remains missing, and authorities are still searching for her.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-671-3100, the FBI Charlotte Office at 704-671-6100, or submit a tip online at tips.fbi.gov. There is still a $5,000 reward available for information in Sara’s disappearance.

On June 18, 2020, more than 1,000 miles away from North Carolina, 22-year-old Katelyn Kelley was reported missing in Shawano, Wisconsin. No one had seen or heard from her since around 3:00 am on June 17. An extensive search for Katelyn began, but tragically, almost a year later, her remains were discovered. While no official cause or manner of death has been revealed, many sources suggest that Katelyn was a homicide victim. Investigators continue looking into the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death.

If you have any information, please call the Menominee Tribal Police at 715-799-3881.

Both Sara Graham and Katelyn Kelley are Indigenous women whose stories have not received much attention in the media or on podcasts. Because of this, I’d like to shed light on their stories and give them the recognition they deserve.
