Find Your Purpose And Rejoice When The World Cries with Terry Tucker Grief & Happiness

    • Society & Culture

Everybody's going to die, but not everybody's really going to live.
In this episode, I'm joined by Terry Tucker, author of "Sustainable Excellence: Ten Principles To Leading Your Uncommon And Extraordinary Life." Terry is a sought-after speaker who believes there is nothing like a good story to inspire, motivate, and encourage people to live uncommon and extraordinary lives. He felt his purpose in life changed over the years; he played basketball, became an athletic coach, managed multiple businesses, and was a SWAT team hostage negotiator. Now, after battling cancer for the last 11 years, Terry knows his purpose is to put as much positivity, goodness, and motivation out there as he can for as long as possible.
Throughout this episode, you'll hear about Terry's extraordinary journey, what made him write his book, and how he "tricked" himself into accomplishing it without a writing background or anything like it. We explore how to find happiness while grieving, how to avoid grief from being in charge of our emotions, and why bearing with pain and solitude and doing nothing about it is like sitting on a time bomb.
Additionally, Terry talks about the four types of people, why finding our purpose is the best thing we can do for ourselves, the power of writing our feelings down, and much more.
In This Episode, You Will Learn:
A bit about Terry's philosophy to live "a life of service" (1:51)
There are four types of people in this world. Which one are you? (6:28)
"Time heals all wounds" is a lie (10:51)
Writing is excellent for finding your purpose in life (18:51)
About how Terry's book was born (23:08)
How to turn death less scary (30:58)
