    Five Heart: A Very Special Christmas Special

    Tonight we have a very special Five Heart Podcast. Even though it is scheduled during the Final Four, we will be giving updates as the game progresses. Also, it happens to be the “Very Special Christmas Special” episode. Greg and Minnie have been busy planning and working away like Santa’s Elves in the Workshop. We will have guests and a special surprise Five Heart Theater that is sure to warm the hearts of even the coldest of hearts (Five Hearts). We will also discuss who is visiting Nebraska and the new commits we’ve received this week. Who do we still need out of the portal? Also, it’s officially official, Nebraska hired Phil Snow as the Associate Head Coach. We will discuss what does that title mean and what kind of responsibilities Coach Snow will have. Please come tonight prepared to partake in the yuletide cheer and remember, as the Grinch said “What if Christmas, he though, doesn’t come from a store. What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.”

    The HHH hits the air tonight at 800 PM CST and bowl season is back in our lives once again.     Five Heart Podcast: Huskers, Who’s N, Who’s Out? VB Regional Semis AND Minnie’s Anniversary Party

    Bring your party hats and noise makers; you are cordially invited to celebrate this Thursday evening on the Five Heart Podcast. After 8 years of a Bowl Game drought, our Huskers have accepted the invitation to play at the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl! There is much to unpack with Husker football updates, new hires, and visits. We will also discuss the upcoming game against Boston College with their first-year head coach, Bill O’Brien. Have you seen what our darling Volleyball players have been up to? Even if you aren’t a fan of the sport, you have to hand it to these girls and their ability to work together and sweep their recent opponents, which led them to the Semi-Regional finals against Dayton this Friday. Last but certainly not least, we will celebrate Minnie’s 1st anniversary. Minnie rose through the ranks and graduated from chat member to Five Heart Guest to Co-host with her dedication, unmatched organization, and boundless creativity. This tribute highlights her invaluable contributions.

    HUSKERS HAPPY HOUR!: Coaches Out, Coaches In, Signing Day & A Bowl Game!

    Start spreading the news! By tuning in to the HHH at 8PM CST tonight! And sorry - I figured I should be about the 3,294th Nebraska outlet to use the New York New York line. But no matter what retreaded lyric I use, the fact was we couldn’t take a nap for the last 10 days or so without missing a hiring, firing, leaving, portal entering, recruit signing or bowl announcement. And we’ll buzz through it all tonight while I add my thoughts on air and you add yours in the comments. And please add them in the comments!! We won’t all agree, but it’ll be fun since so many of us take this “Happy Hour” with the seriousness it deserves. So pour a cold one - or hot one if Irish coffee is your thing - and belly up.  There’s a lot going on!

    Monday Night Therapy: Bowling in the Bronx - Husker Football is New York-Bound

    This week on Monday Night Therapy, it is the crossover show for the ages.  Jon Johnston is off tonight and asked the Corn Nation Overreaction Crew to stand in for him. What are Greg, Hoss, and Jake overreacting to tonight?  We learned on Sunday that Nebraska was selected to go to the Big Apple for the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium. The Huskers will take on Boston College. The Eagles finished the regular season 7-5 and ninth place in the ACC, exactly the middle of the 17-team league.  We also learned since our last show that the floodgates would open and the exodus from Lincoln would begin. The linchpin seemed to be Tony White’s (and Terrance Knighton) departure to Florida State, something announced last week. We won’t necessarily rehash all of the portal news from the last week, but we will at least address the Emmett Johnson portal entry and subsequent return to Lincoln.  The Overreaction guys are happy Johnson is staying a Husker, almost as much as we miss Johnston being here on the show tonight.  And due to the cast change for tonight, we have a time change as well. Tonight’s show will begin at 9pm Central. We apologize for the inconvenience but we hope to be efficient and get out in a timely manner.  GBR! Let’s try and make Jon proud.

    Five Heart: Husker Football Under New Management with Interim DC & New OC PLUS TOP 20 SIGNING CLASS

    We have an unbelievably fun show planned tonight on the Five Heart Podcast. There is so much to cover as we put the last nail in the Iowa loss (last Friday). After the dust settled, we learned a few things about that game. Lots of staff changes have taken place this week. As rumors began circling first thing Monday morning about Tony White leaving to become the Defensive Coordinator for FSU and the possibility of Terrance Knighton leaving as well. With the announcement of coaching departures, came the news that several players have entered the transfer portal. NCAA has capped the roster to 105 players next season from the 150 we’ve been allotted this year. So far we have 15 guys leaving through the portal, 13 seniors graduating but 20 players that have newly signed. That’s still over by 53 players. As the saying goes, ‘that math isn’t mathing’. Speaking of our newly signed players, Nebraska now has the 19th ranked signing class for 2025. With six 4 star and fourteen 3 star additions, the early signing period has shaped up quite well. We still have through February 5th to add more players to this class. The team has been busy practicing and lifting this week as we finally get those elusive 15ish extra bowl game practices that we’ve missed out on for the last 8 years. I love the fact that it doesn’t look like those 13 seniors that I mentioned before will be opting out of the bowl game. Headed to these practices have special meaning for the team but even more so to those seniors. Lastly, those black shorts have done us proud! (AGAIN). Nebraska will be hosting Florida A&M Friday night at 8pm. GBR!!!

    HUSKERS HAPPY HOUR!: The Wildest Offseason Ever Is Officially Underway!!

    A review of another loss to Iowa, this one which the Huskers thoroughly dominated for all but 3 or 4 plays. But those 3 or 4…oof! But there was no rest for the reddish as what will be a crazy offseason started with a bang. Tony White’s leaving (not a shocker, actually a good move for him), but Dana Holgorsen’s staying.  And the largest portal in its short history is opening. (Step right in, nothing to be afraid of…) Plenty of questions abound. Who will be the new DC? Where are we going bowling? Can the Huskers pledge no early Xmas gifts to Iowa next season? What will the defense look like?
