Does the Church Actually Teach us to Hate God??

Does the Church Actually Teach us to Hate God??

Today, we talk about the Teaching of Contempt for God – and how the church actually teaches us to hate God!!We may not realize that, amidst the singing of praises, and saying, “Oh God is so good!” but all of it is over a trapdoor of seething contempt for a God who we are taught is capable of some horrible stuff. That’s our understanding from religion, and it's by design! Why??So, they can keep you in the pews and add the conditions that if we just do the right things, believe the right t...

Yikes! What About ENVY and WRATH?

Today, we talk about envy and wrath. Yikes, scary!Breathe. We are all okay. That’s why we are deconstructing this -- to free our hearts from this fear.People in power often accuse and shame us in the very things they do!It’s all about projecting. They project onto us their sins, their crimes. That sleight of hand, that narrative keeps us focusing on our own hearts, and not on theirs. Our goal here is to free us from the shame and guilt that is poured on to us so others can maintain their power...

Why do people’s lives turn on the approval or non-approval of these authority figures? This is our 150th episode… and we are going to have some fun...

Shae Limtiaco ,

Fantastic podcast. Brilliant people. I love these two! So much.

I really appreciated the episode on the church teaching us to hate ourselves. It’s the hardest area to deconstruct, further depending on what all and how much is behind it. It’s easy to give grace to others, it’s hard to for ourselves. It’s also hard when we feel we’ve fallen from grace from those we believe love us most. The idea behind Robert and Susan’s grandchild just learning by existing and experimenting was a loving example of what it was always supposed to be for all of us throughout life. It doesn’t stop when we learn to walk and talk and listen. Dolores Cannon says this is Planet Trauma and we come here to learn. Learn through experimenting, learn through our mistakes, learn through interactions. And every life cycle we get better. This is a common theme in FreedHearts of graceful tenderness towards others and ourselves and valuing and celebrating one another’s lives and what we offer. Loving because we exist and breathe and not because we fit a certain mold. Loving just because. Loving inclusively. Making room at the table. Creating the world of our daydreams that makes room for all without judgment. I appreciate the reminders each episode brings and the time Robert and Susan take to make these episodes in the midst of all their business. They have good hearts and good intentions and lots of love they intentionally shower us through their work. This lesbian appreciated them and loved them dearly.
