Community involvement, civic engagement and volunteering have been a focus of Laura Love’s since she founded her creative agency, GroundFloor Media, in 2001. Join Laura and her CenterTable colleague, Jim Licko, as they shine a light on the critical issues facing Colorado told through the eyes of the leaders making a difference in our community. What grounds us to the realities we are facing as a state? What good can we do – as individuals, families and companies -- to help shape our future? How can we get involved in meaningful ways? Episodes are purposefully brief (10-20 minutes), and are based on the important matters in the news with interviews from well-respected Colorado-based leaders.

    Building Healthier Lives | Julie Kiehl and Liza Johnson of The Empowerment Program

    In the state of Colorado, more than 1,100 women are released from state prisons and 44,000 from local jails each year. The Empowerment Program exists to help those women build healthier lives through trauma informed and gender responsive services. When Liza was released from jail, The Empowerment Program was there for her. For the past 14 years, she’s worked for the program and helps thousands of women every year do the same. Listen to the story of Liza and the Empowerment Program in our latest Good and Grounded.
