Touching the fog line

After conviction for a .08 dui
(for touching the fog line in response to a speeding emergency vehicle approaching from behind ,)
defendant drove to wash laundry and was pulled over for a taillight being out.
(Eureka California case cr1802626 )
The defendant was not arrested but was given a ticket and vehicle was impounded , at the court date - which was continued multiple times for a duration of a year , was told that dependant upon the outcome of her appeal in the underlying case, she may have to serve a mandatory 14 days in jail for driving her vehicle after being convicted of dui.
Defendant has never been in jail and has no other criminal history- will a writ protect her from the 14 days in jail ?
