History for Atheists

Tim O’Neill is a historian who knows what he is talking about. He shines a light of truth on the myths of church history, the medieval ages, and science to give you the listen a better understanding of history. True history buffs would enjoy history that would you think. Tim O’Neill has little patience for nonsense. I highly recommend this podcast for anyone interested in real history.

There’s some great info here, but the host seriously needs to relax. You want people to listen to you and admit when they’re wrong? Then stop assuming they’re stupid and/or lazy, or have bad motives when they’re misinformed, and then telling them that. Even when you’re telling me something I don’t already know, I still end up wanting to punch you in the face.

Excellent podcast and website. It’s obvious that Tim O’Neill has a passion for history and what the craft can tell us about the past, but he can’t abide it’s sloppy use by so many atheists who should know better. I’ve had to re-examine my own lazy, uninformed acceptance of myths I believed. Thanks for that, and thanks for the resources you list from your talks and articles.

Loved the show until I heard, “JoE rOgAn ToOk HoRsE dEwOrMeR.” That Tim believes such an easily debunkable, politically motivated myth means that I can’t trust anything else he says. Yes, Joe Rogan has the opinions you’d expect from someone whose hobbies include smoking weed and getting punched in the head, but he doesn’t have advanced education in anything either. His mistakes are forgivable, Tim’s make the show impossible to enjoy anymore.
