Wanted to love

I wanted to love this podcast. I love Nicole and think that she brings the podcast at least back down to earth, but listening to both girls together seems a lot like just bashing their husbands and talking about influencing. I don’t think Caroline realizes how privileged and pessimistic she comes off. I appreciate the vulnerability Nicole occasionally brings in, but Caroline is just not relatable at all.
Its okay

Eh. Sometimes it’s good but other times the things they talk about are extremely out of touch, privileged, and kind of insane. Two examples I can think of: 1). The topic of a man changing his mind to have kids. I think there are two instances in this episode where the men in two different relationships-one being Caroline’s-said that they were unsure if they still wanted kids and Nicole and Caroline’s response to that was basically “no they still want them, they’re just scared about the reality of it and the money”…..uh no. I’m not gonna say Caroline’s husband doesn’t want kids anymore, but in general if your man is telling you he doesn’t want kids, you should probably believe him and not just ignore his desires. 2). The home birth episode where the guest was talking about how she regrets having kids “later” in life came from an extremely privileged place to me. The guest says that she waited so long because she was focused on her career and wanted to make sure she was in a good financial place. Fast forward to her having her baby and now saying she wishes she did it earlier and that you “just make it work” even if you’re not financially in a good place when you get pregnant. Um does she not realize that she “just made it work” because she made sure she was in a good financial place to do it and if she had done it earlier then she would’ve struggled a lot? Telling females to have kids younger, when they’re not financially ready for it (especially in nyc), is irresponsible, and hypocritical considering you are only able to say that because since you focused on your career first, you had the resources and money to make sure it was an easy situation for you. You didn’t have to struggle at all.

Podcast has many good episode topics but it sometimes takes half the episode to get into the main topic. If you prefer podcasts with structure this probably isn’t for you.
