Could Be Better Organized

Podcast has many good episode topics but it sometimes takes half the episode to get into the main topic. If you prefer podcasts with structure this probably isn’t for you.
No substance
18 de out.
This podcast lacks any real substance. I was very disappointed in the recent home birth episode - there was no acknowledgment of any of the risks/dangers and it completely ignored the fact that many women do not have a straightforward, positive birth and postpartum experience like the host. I don’t think N&C should be promoting things like home birth and cosleep with no actual knowledge. Having a midwife or L&D nurse on instead would have been a much better way to talk about birth.
Latest ep spreads misinformation
17 de out.
The latest episode about the guest’s home birth spreads dangerous misinformation. The guest is not a medical expert and can only speak from personal experience yet she tells the listeners things that are not at all recommended by doctors. They don’t do any research to be able to push back or clarify as hosts. Not helpful for women at all. Co-sleeping in the parents’ because we did it “in the ice age” is a crazy thing to push - truly dangerous for infants. This guest asserts that mothers “can’t crush their babies” in bed. Not true and really unfortunate to be spewing.
Disappointed
16 de out.
Last episode (10/16) really irked me. I do not think anyone without a medical profession should be giving advice on where and how to have children. Nicole’s SIL is a OB/GYN MD who I’d much rather listen to than a random influencer who is giving out medical advice and sharing a very narrow perspective on childbirth. As someone with a medical background they really lost me with this episode and I’m incredibly disappointed in how they are using their platform.
