Tax evaders living it up
5 de set.
I thoroughly enjoy the daily pod so I thought Id check out this one as well. But this guy, on top of being pretty cringe with his inside lingo ( fire nation 🥴 very childish), proudly announces how he is able to afford his "entrepreneur" lifestyle in Puerto Rico because of act 60, which is widely known to be the tax evaders dream and a rule of law that is making very detrimental impacts to puertorricans, you know the people who then have to make up and suffer (literally getting priced out of their own country) for all the property taxes and all the taxes from monetary gains that him and his family are not paying. Yuck, tacky. I would hope that younger generations are attuned with the impact of privilege and would see sustainability for a place like Puerto Rico as something that IS the future and that is beyond the cheap immediate satisfaction of capitalism.
Good Content, feels inauthentic

This is probably a review for Gen Z aged listeners. The content is good, don’t get me wrong, but the podcast just feels very lacking in authenticity. I will start with saying there IS valuable content and knowledgeable guests, this review is not about that, it’s more about the feel I get as a listener and why it’s limiting me from listening more frequently. The continual addressing of listeners as “fire nation” feels very cringey and impersonal to me and although edited well, it doesn’t feel like a conversation, more like the host asking an FAQ and an expert responding. By that I mean there’s no banter, “mhmm”s, “yeah” or any of that. The expert could have said these answers on YouTube and I could ask the questions and frame their insight as answers is how it feels. Some people may like the polished feel, but I can’t even tell if he’s actually talking with the person, so I feel like it limits me from buying into the conversation myself. I get the professionalism and the psychological perspective of making people feel a part of something with addressing them as “fire nation”, but I just wish it felt a little more raw, which I think is why so many popular shows thrive.
