    Albert Flynn DeSilver is an American poet, memoirist, novelist, speaker, and workshop leader. He is the author of several books of poems, the memoir “Beamish Boy,” and “Writing as a Path to Awakening" (Sounds True, 2017). Albert received an MFA in Photography/New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute. He worked as a California Poet in the Schools for many years and served as poet laureate of Marin County, California from 2008-2010. He has shared the stage and presented with U. S Poet Laureate Kay Ryan, bestselling authors’ Maxine Hong Kingston, Cheryl Strayed, Elizabeth Gilbert, and many others. Albert is also a meditation teacher at Spirit Rock and speaks at writing conferences nationally.

Love this Podcast

Rachael has created an important and comforting window to the process of writing with this podcast. I’m a longtime listener, and still with every guest learn something new and helpful. It’s also fun to follow her journey through this career.

I am a huge fan of the How Do You Write podcast. I’m fascinated by process and how people do things to get where they need to go.
I like the host’s style of delivery and speaking voice and have greatly enjoyed the variety of guests she’s had in the show. I have found quite a few new to me authors and books through these interviews.
