    Maureen Forman started experiencing strange headaches, migraines, and paresthesia. One day, while she was on a hike with her son, she suddenly couldn’t move and couldn’t talk properly.



    Maureen Foreman is an owner of an equestrian center and also in corporate America, with a challenging career that brings her to LA from Georgia, she suddenly found herself so ill and undiagnosable for three years. As the bills accrued, she realized she had to keep up with her corporate job. Maureen is one of many who has Lyme and has been misdiagnosed a lot of times. Her story resonates with the story of many Lyme Disease patients.



    In this episode, Maureen shares with us her journey with Lyme Disease. How initially like other Lyme Disease patients she was often misdiagnosed, from being diagnosed with a brain tumor, she went through different treatments that didn’t properly address her condition.

    Bruce Fries worked in the computer industry for a long time. But with the nature of his work, he eventually felt burnt out. He realized he wanted to spend time in physical activities, he then worked on farms maintaining fences and feeding horses. Unknowingly, that was the beginning of his biggest second wind.



    In 2007, Bruce got a lump the size of a grapefruit on his knee, little did he know it was the beginning of his Lyme journey. Since 2014, he has been an advocate for Lyme patients and now collaborates between stakeholder organizations and federal agencies to advance research on Lyme disease.



    In this episode, Bruce shares with us how he chose to use his illness and skills to help other people suffering from Lyme. Acquiring Lyme didn’t feel like a curse for Bruce, instead, it changed his life and brought him to his biggest second wind, to become an advocate and the voice for Lyme patients.

    Karhma Novak is a wife, a mother, and a teacher. She's also the executive director of the I-58 Mission, a nonprofit organization that is designed to Exalt Christ and make Him known by caring for those in crisis.



    In this episode, Karhma shares with us how God called her, her family and others to a mission of helping others. Based on the verse Isaiah 58, they have heed God’s call and are accomplishing what God has called them to do - to cloth the naked, feed the hungry, and provide shelter for those in need. From a name on an Angel Tree, they have now grown to help up to 40 families a week.

She will also share what Gray Divorce is about and why it’s becoming a thing. Going through divorce is difficult, but it can still be done in a peaceful, fair, and amicable way if two people decide to work together.

A Cozy Place for Grown Girls

That’s what this podcast is like. Such a wonderful array of women telling their life stories. Host selection and Wendy’s questions are the ones we all are wanting to hear the answers for. It really offers an opportunity to not only allow these wonderful women to tell their stories, but inspire both women and girls. It testifies to the strength and spirit of us all, Can potentially, teach us a new skill, and certainly change a paradigm. I encourage all women to give this podcast a listen, you’ll be glad you did.
