Students, Systemness, and Spirit: A Conversation with Michael Fullan
Michael Fullan and I sit down for a conversation about hope and the opportunity to unite a nation through students and education. We are at moment in history where the global pandemic, divisive political views, and glaring inequalities just might be disruptive enough to create an opportunity to finally (really) transform public education. We discuss the path forward and provide a framework to unify and engage our communities by collaboratively building a Portrait of a Graduate (Learner), rooted in Deeper Learning and the six Cs: Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Citizenship, and Character.
Learning needs to be student-centered and the entire educational system should to be oriented in such a way that students and teachers are liberated from the constraints that impede students from gaining the skills and dispositions to prepare them to solve the world's most difficult challenges.

This was quite interesting from a retired teacher’s point of view. Education has jumped ahead and improved dramatically in the seventeen years since I was a teacher. Superintendent McCormick has done an outstanding job of bringing forth the subject and incorporating the guests with their contributions.
Failing/High Anxiety to Learning/Functioning Tween
Great things happening in education! So grateful Liam is getting to experience being with Jon Corippo for 6th grade! Total game changer! Liam is transforming into a good student and discovering he is way smarter, stronger, and hardworking than he thought. All while having fun, getting to use his creativity, being allowed to make choices and BE CURIOUS, which in turn, promotes him to take ownership of his education. POWERFUL! Parents, educators, people of the planet, YOU’VE GOT TO LISTEN TO THIS!
