Dr Abi Tarran-Jones, is a Clinical Psychologist, also known as The Outdoor Psychologist. She has over 15 years experience working in the NHS supporting adults of all ages to live well and meaningful lives despite the mental health, physical health and cognitive difficulties they may be struggling with. Now she is pushing the boundaries of her therapeutic approach to offer people a more creative and holistic approach to address their wellbeing needs. She set up in independent practice this Autumn as The Outdoor Psychologist. Dr Abi delivers therapy for clients and supervision for clinicians, outdoors in the North York Moors (Cod Beck Reservoir, Osmotherley) or indoors from her rustic woodland lodge (Yarm, Teesside). She skillfully uses the natural setting to enhance the work and support clients to understand themselves and their experiences better and develop healthy ways to cope and live.

As a film maker she had made documentaries to raise awareness, built rainwater systems for those drinking contaminates water and brought together scientists to use fungi to clean up oil spills. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by the environmental problems we face Nicola is committed to doing whatever she can to make a change in the world; that is why she calls her self a Solutionist.
