Ep. 23 | I Moved to Mexico for my Mental, Emotional and Financial Wellness

Natisha Willis is a DEI practitioner and life and wellness coach. We met when we were chosen by Brown Ambition podcast host, Mandi Woodruff-Santos, for her inaugural career coaching cohort–the Mandi MoneyMakers. We’ve been meeting and chatting since earlier this year. And I was always in awe of Natisha’s story–one of those reasons: in 2018 Natisha made a move most of us only fantasize about–she left the U.S. for a simpler, more gratifying life in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Today she joins me to talk about living and working as an expat and how it’s improved her quality of life across the board–we’re talking mental, emotional and financial Wellness! She’s going to share her story, and we’ll discuss the cultural differences in work styles and priorities as we observe them in the DEI space. And later, we’ll hear commentary from two additional guests, my cousin Ashley Cottrell and my friend Ayoka Blandford who both made similar moves to Puerto Rico and Costa Rica, respectively. And I’ll have them all share some tips–for anyone who's considering making this kind of move, this kind of change

Follow and connect with today's guests on Instagram for a glimpse into their extraordinary lives abroad! You'll find Ashley Cottrell @ashley__amor, Ayoka Blandford @joyinhome, and Natisha Willis @coachtish and natishawillis.com.

Ep. 20 | The Marriage RESET! With Marriage Expert, Treal Ravenel of Wives Who Win

Ep. 20 | The Marriage RESET! With Marriage Expert, Treal Ravenel of Wives Who Win

Fresh off the Changed Ever After episode—episode 19, where we discussed life after divorce or separation—this episode flips to the other side of that relationship coin! We are joined today by marriage expert, Treal Ravenel, who helps women and couples reset and rebrand their marriage with new terms, christian principals and spirituality in their toolkit. She walks us through her "RESET" model:

    R.E.S.E.T.

Reevaluate Your Marital Agreement and Commitment
Establish Core Values and Practical Principles that work for Your Marriage
Set Realistic and Enforceable Boundaries to Protect Your Marriage
Establish a Measurable Blueprint for Marital Success
Take time to Implement and Measure Results

Treal will also speak to the entrepreneurial side of her work—the planning and financial toil it takes to organize events that empower women.

You can connect with Treal on Instagram by clicking here or on LinkedIn by clicking here.

Ep. 19 | Changed Ever After: Life After Divorce or Separation

Ep. 19 | Changed Ever After: Life After Divorce or Separation

Going through divorce and separation, we can feel isolated and like there’s no one who can relate to what we’re going through. So in this episode I bring you four relatable examples to look to. We're talking change after divorce or separation. I’m having a panel conversation with a few friends–I’m calling them “The Confidantes!” Three women, and myself, who are all on the other side of divorce and separation, and very different outcomes and circumstances.  Living “together but separate” until you can afford to live apart, forgiving infidelity, being best friends after divorce, and explosive endings that lead to beautiful, new beginnings... These are real examples of change, ever after.

Ep. 18 | The Startup Hack Nobody Talks About–the “DBA” Option! A mini (but mighty) episode! ;)

Gems on gems on gems in this mini episode! Jina Etienne from Etienne Consulting wasn’t available during the production of last week’s episode. We hopped on a quick call after the show; she shared her feedback on my Quick Launch Guide and the sections where I discuss building your network and being referred to an accountant,  and there were just too many nuggets not to share with my emcees! So while I’m on vacation, enjoy this jewel of a conversation! And I can't wait until her full episode where we can expand on some topics she mentions–the 10 questions startup clients always ask, and when and why to consider an LLC.

You can contact Jina by email at jina@etienneconsulting.com, and by phone at 301-778-5510. As she says–be sure to mention my name and the podcast so you get a timely response! 😆

Love the podcast

I truly enjoyed all of the podcasts. The one on public speaking was special to me. I am often ask to speak in front of people and I get very nervous and have been told that I speak so fast and need to slow down. I am going to try to use some of the recommendations.
