Each week, Dustin, Dalton and Arthur get together to discuss your favorite genre movies that you wouldn't hear discussed in a film studies program. From 80s action to 90s sci-fi, we provide movie analysis and film analysis to some of your faves. We also include other segments to spice things up. It's the conversations you have outside the theater, but with a bit of academia.

Ep. 559: Babylon (2022) with Caleb Masters
Hello friends and familiars! The GenreCast is back with more Meta May shenanigans. This week, it's big, it's bombastic... it's Babylon. And we're not alone. Our old friend Caleb Masters, from over at The Cinematropolis and the Cinematic Schematic, joins us to break this one down. Damien Chazelle's follow up to First Man is an epic look back at Hollywood during its transitional period from the late 20s into the 30s. Somewhat divisive upon its release, the film has amassed a strong cult following. We evaluate what Babylon brings to the table, as well as dive deep into analysis on the themes and tropes running rampant throughout. So, grab your guy, your gal, or your pal and join us as we analyze Babylon.

Customer Reviews
I like it
and so should you.
YES
Arguably the greatest podcast called “GoodTrash Genrecast.”
Why so political
I really enjoy this podcast, but my political opinion is not the exactly the same as theirs, even though they are similar I feel like they make it seem as though anyone with a slightly different political view is stupid. I am just so tired of having someone’s political views shoved down my throat all the time. Besides that I do really enjoy the podcast and there is a lot of great information.
