Español con Juan

If you are learning the language in any form and at least beyond the early beginner stage, it would be well worthwhile to check out Juan's podcast. I have enjoyed it immensely over the last 3 and a half months, quickly getting addicted and, starting from the beginning, just now catching up and finishing his latest episode (237 eps in all). For me being the same age, I really identify with his perspective quite often; as in the latest episode where he sees this time, the year 2025, as the future and for so much of our life even the year 2000 seemed like the future. This brought back many of these same kind of memories for me. But what really makes Juan's podcast stand out is his versatility and variety, including humorous anecdotes, creative stories, historical perspective, psychological probing and sometimes just speaking off the cuff while out on a walk. I really do love Juan's sense of humor and probably my favorite episode was the story of how he got talked into buying a seat on a spaceship headed to planet Urus... only 5000€

Juan has an amazing sense of humor. The podcast I mentioned above is my favorite one. It’s funny but has many words and phrases to learn. Gracias Juan!

I love Juan’s dry humor! I frequently find myself chuckling or laughing out loud at his commentary. As far as his teaching method, it is truly immersive. He uses context and situations to introduce grammar concepts and vocabulary. He doesn’t discuss rules, he demonstrates through context and repetition. It’s so easy to listen to his episodes while doing chores and not lose focus because it’s like listening to a funny friend.

Juan has been my best friend on road trips, cooking and just whenever I want to fit in extra Spanish. Incredibly useful, interesting and varied. I cannot recommend this podcast enough for learners!
