Episode 145: Action and Alarm- Author EC Hanes Shares Story behind The Bus to Buelah

Episode 145: Action and Alarm- Author EC Hanes Shares Story behind The Bus to Buelah

After reading an article in Buzzfeed about a person bringing in migrant workers into North Carolina, Author E.C. Hanes, paused… took notice and decided to learn more.  As a resident of North Carolina and knowing that over 200,000 people come in each year for migrant work (from agriculture to hospitality) became curious and investigated.
These essential workers are necessary for the fabric of America, and he wrote a novel based on his research. He created fictional characters and decided to tell the story with a “little bit of sugar.”

Episode 144: Reneé Rodriguez Brings Hope to Those in Tragic Custody Battles

Episode 144: Reneé Rodriguez Brings Hope to Those in Tragic Custody Battles

Reneé Rodriguez helps women in custody battles against a narcissistic co-parent to go into family court and get the custody arrangement that's best for their kids. These women have suffered psychological abuse at the hands of their former partners and are working to ensure their children are protected from further cruelty. Her company is called Best Foot Forward, has been around for several years.

Reneé has been a coach for years and has a degree in Psychology. She was coached in her custody struggles and decided to help others in similar situations.

Reneé has formed a blueprint for preparing for court through Strategy, Mindset, and Evidence and using truth and virtue even in the face of lies and manipulation. I find that moms are dependent on their lawyers to save them, and they have no real sense of how best to present their evidence in court. What sets Renee apart is her focus on the mindset of dealing with a high-conflict co-parent--both in a custody battle AND as a mom trying to co-parent with a damaged individual. She addresses the shame, guilt, and helplessness through her Custody Warriors program.

Episode 142: Paulette Perhach- Victim Mentality to Published Author in The New York Times

Episode 142: Paulette Perhach- Victim Mentality to Published Author in The New York Times

    Are you even a writer?
I have asked this question so many times… as has (probably) every writer.
Paulette Perhach's life  started with financial disaster and the accidental death of her father when she was 17, she started started out with a victim mentality.

Paulette admits to feeling entitled and waited for success to come to her. It wasn't until she had an experience through the  Peace Corps that she learned she had to take responsibility for her own success. She discovered the miracle of self-education during her service in Paraguay.

She bought a horse and simply Googled: "How to ride horse." Two weeks later, she was galloping.

She's gone on to become an adult-education evangelist, starting a corporate university at a $50M company, creating writing courses, and authoring the book Welcome to the Writer’s Life Book—a guide to turning freelance writing into a business.

She also wrote a globally viral article that helped millions of women realize the importance of financial power, calledA Story of a F-Off Fund.

She is now a successful writer and writing coach, with work in The New York Times, Vox, Cosmo, Glamour, and many more.
