Another Russia
In 2015 Putin’s number one public enemy, Boris Nemtsov, was shot and killed in front of the Kremlin. He was a relentless critic of Putin, corruption, and war in Ukraine. Then, he was assassinated. His daughter, journalist Zhanna Nemtsova, and co-host Ben Rhodes tell his story to find out what happened to an entire country – and what happens next. Is another Russia possible?

Very illuminating

This podcast gave me a very good notion of how Russia came to embark in this current trajectory. I found it because Vladimir Kara-Murza mentioned Boris Nemtsov as a very important person in his life and had a notion that he had been murdered, but I dis not know his story.
Absolutely loved it!

Listened from first episode to last and it kept me interested the whole time. I hope there are more of these podcasts as like many of us know nothing of Russia and would like to learn the real truths. Thank you for sharing this story.
Surprisingly gripping!

I mostly started this show because of my love of Crooked media, and I didn’t expect to be so engaged. I listened to it all in two days. The universal is often best told through the personal, and through this personal story, you can see the emergence of the universal techniques of autocracy and get a better understanding of what Russia could have been and what it has become.
Fascinating short series

This series helped me understand a crucial transitional period of Russian history, and compellingly connects the personal lens of one of the producers to events in the world today. At only 6 episodes it's a very digestible series. Strongly recommend!
