Introducing Peace in the Parks

Peace in the Parks
Welcome! Meet your facilitator, Ray (she/her/they) and get an idea of what this pod is all about. If you’re a National Park lover, you’ve come to the right place! We’re kicking off the season in Yosemite National Park. Immerse yourself in visualizations of giant sequoia trees, the famous features of Yosemite Valley, and the beautiful high country. Yosemite, like all National Parks is on stolen land. There are 7 tribes with ancestral ties to the land. To learn more about these tribes that are very much here and active today visit their websites: - Southern Sierra Miwuk Nation: https://www.southernsierramiwuknation.org/ - Mono Lake Kootzaduka’a Tribe: https://monolaketribe.us/ - Bishop Paiute Tribe: https://www.bishoppaiutetribe.com/ - Bridgeport Indian Colony: http://www.bridgeportindiancolony.com/ - North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians of California: https://www.northforkrancheria-nsn.gov/ - Picayune Rancheria of Chukchansi Indians: https://chukchansi-nsn.gov/ - Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians: https://mewuk.com/ A special thanks to my Yosemite people, there are many - but especially Emily Dayhoff. You are such a badass girl! So grateful to know you. And of course, my Yosemite monkey, Mash. Our souls are dancing!
