Judging your friends so you don’t have to
há 1 dia
It’s hard to stay open and curious, and assume people are doing the best they can with the resources they have, when all around us fools are WILDING OUT. On JJHo, your parasocial besties get judgy for you! Live vicariously through their gentle reprimand, persistent crux-finding, and binding verdicts—all rendered in a spirit of kindness, care, and consent. One of my few immediate listens for over a decade!

There’s really no equal in the podcast world that I’ve found. Judge John Hodgman doles out carefully crafted judgements on even the most trivial of matters. Bailiff Jesse adds well-timed punchlines to the mix and is the ringer for sports and pop culture knowledge that you wish you had for your pub trivia team. This longstanding fake internet court even has established law, such as “people like what they like” and “a hotdog is not a sandwich”. You can learn all about “little weirdsies” and the bizarre systems that people (mostly guys in hetero relationships) concoct that would work “if only everyone else would get on board”. I will pause other podcasts in progress and switch to Judge Hodgman if I see there’s a new episode.

We Are Always Mindful

I’ve been listening to this podcast for as long as I have been listening to SYSK. All of y’all are my four favorite hosts to listen to. And I always appreciate your life wisdom. “Be mindful of the work that you leave for others” has become an often repeated rule in our house. And always comes up whenever we leave public spaces such as a restaurants, hotel rooms, or movie theaters. So, thanks for helping me parent my kids, I guess. 😁 In All Sincerity, Stephanie from Little Rock, Arkansas.
