Danielle, I love everything about today’s podcast. It was a tender reminder of why we celebrate this day. I also loved the personal story about a boy named Johnny who grew up in your 185 year old homestead. John Leslie Wehr, was only 23 when he was killed in Vietnam on Feb 9, 1969. Johnny is my 1st cousin, 1x removed. He is my grandma’s brother’s son. I was only 5 at the time of his death, but I grew up knowing what a kind young man he was, and what a great loss to our family. We will never forget.
