We could tell you about our show, but in the words of LeVar Burton, "don't take our word for it!" Here is an actual listener's description of the show: "Think Cher Horowitz meets Dolly Parton... create a love child. Then THAT person meets Bill Kurtis.... and two random girls are the product of that.... that's Tyrella and Tori (sisters and hosts). Smart, weird, pretty, blonde, hilarious, southern, and just really okay with being themselves.... even when it is weird. It made me realize [they] became their role models without even meaning to." Give it a try if you like ANY of those people and/or a lighter take on your True Crime!

229: David Crespi: Failed by the System or Child Killer?

229: David Crespi: Failed by the System or Child Killer?

On January 20, 2006, Kim Crespi came home to her beautiful house in Matthews, North Carolina after a hair appointment, only to be stopped by a police barricade. She was informed that her two, five-year-old twin daughters, Tess and Sammie, had been murdered, and her husband, David, had confessed and was in police custody. David, a man who had never outwardly shown any signs of violence or aggression. A man who, to his friends, co-workers, and family, seemed like a hard-working, loving, and happy person. Even more frightening than the reality that David had murdered two of his daughters, was the likelihood that David would have murdered his wife and remaining 3 children had they been home. What could have caused this husband and father to brutally kill his two twin girls? Was it a conscious choice he made or was it induced by his recent changes in medication prescribed for his depression and anxiety?

TRIGGER WARNINGS: child murder, depression and mental health, heavy medication use

    Charles Manson [Cult]- Part 2

    Charles Manson [Cult]- Part 2

    Part 2 of 2.

On the morning of August 9, 1969, a housekeeper arrived at her job to find a horrific scene. There were five dead bodies in the home on 10050 Cielo Drive on Benedict Canyon in Beverly Hills. The victims were actress Sharon Tate and several of her friends, as well as a teenager who had been visiting the house’s caretaker. Scrawled on the front door in blood was one word: PIG. The following night, a wealthy couple was brutally massacred in their LA home. There were several more words written in blood on the walls of the couple’s home, most notably a phrase on the refrigerator that read “Helter Skelter”. This made seven brutal murders in less than 48 hours. It wasn’t long before investigators connected the two attacks, along with an earlier murder, tracing them all back to a cult-like group called the family. The family was led by a single individual, who exhibited control over all of them. The man was Charles Manson. Investigators had a hard time believing that one man could have such an influence over others that they would murder for him, yet after meeting Manson, they learned that he was no ordinary person.

    **ALL OF THE TRIGGER WARNINGS**
Murder, brutality, torture, murder of a pregnant woman, sexual assault of adults and children, drug use, racism, and cults.

    Ezra Mccandless

    Ezra Mccandless

March 22nd, 2018, after getting a weird feeling regarding his ex-girlfriend, Jason Mengel went to his friend Alex Woodworth’s house to check in on him.  Ezra McCandless is the ex in question, and she told Jason she had some personal items to return to Alex, since they were friends as well.  Once at Alex’s home, Jason saw the two talking, and a passerby called the police when they saw Jason pacing back and forth in front of the apartment.  After the police showed up and talked with everyone, they determined that there was no issue and left along with Jason.  It was the last time anyone besides Ezra saw Alex alive.

Preview of Britney Spears (Part 1): Family Trauma, Predatory Paparazzi, and Mrs.-Extra-Extra-This-Just-In

Preview of Britney Spears (Part 1): Family Trauma, Predatory Paparazzi, and Mrs.-Extra-Extra-This-Just-In

No musician owned pop music quite like Britney Spears at the turn of the century. After graduating from Mississippi tween queen to full-fledged American superstar, her fame exploded at a time when tabloids circled celebrities like prey. 30 to 45 predatory paparazzi would follow Britney’s every move during 12-to-14 hour shifts, eager to document the collapse of her marriage and social circle. As her public image crumbled, it’s no wonder Britney ended 2007 with a bald head and a “blackout.” The conservatorship that came next, however, surprised everyone—even Britney herself.

The Mysterious Deaths of the Jamison Family

The Mysterious Deaths of the Jamison Family

On October 8th, 2009, the Jamison family, consisting of dad, Bobby, mom, Sherilynn, and 6-year-old Madyson, left their home in Eufaula, Oklahoma to drive to a nearby mountain area to check out a parcel of land that they were considering purchasing. Eight days later, their truck was found on a dirt road in the mountain area, abandoned, with the family dog locked inside. What happened to the family and where were they now? It would be another four years before investigators were able to answer just ONE of those questions. They found the Jamisons, but still had no idea what happened to them in October of 2009.

Obsessed

I love the commentary during their episodes. I find myself saying “absolutely” way more than I should lol. Best true crime podcast out there!

Starting to get boring

Please stop doing all the typical boring cases that have been covered 100 times over. Every week I have to mark your episodes as played because of how generic and mainstream they are.
