Here for Doug and Bill
I was SO sad when I heard Doug was leaving Buckeyetalk, I felt like I was losing a part of day. When I found out Doug was jumping to THE Podcast, I was ecstatic. Doug and Bill are FANTASTIC together. To be honest, the idea of KOTN is interesting, but I’d enjoy even more a full view of college football. I know, I know, the south can cram it, but I just enjoy listening to these two, and would love an even more national view on college football, especially with the expanded playoff. So in short, the south can cram it, but I want to hear about what’s going on there more so I can more roundly and fully appreciate cramming it.
Great concept, great execution
This show provides great context on the northern half of the sport at a time when college football feels increasingly polarized along those lines. And as a son of the north, I love the passion!
The premise is horrible
I like Doug and Bill. Been a fan of then since the BAD podcast. But the premise of the show is so bad.
Trying to listen to them stretch to talk up Cuse, Boston College or Maryland or Minnesota is comical. The majority of their audiences Ohio State fans as am I. As Ohio State fans we are not part of northern college football culture. Our fan base is far more of a “southern” fan base than it is a Northern fanbase. The North does not recruit hard they don’t invest in football and most of their fanbases don’t care. I think Doug cares more about Illinois football than any Illinois fan I’ve ever met. We’ve been carrying the North for 100 years. Listening to a college football show they just excludes the south is about the most boring thing I can possibly listen to. Even from two hosts that I actually like. I would love to listen to them do a college football show to a company King of Columbus. Just a regular college football show without some goofy twist that excludes 70% of the good football in the country. Maybe someday.
