    Central American Migration to the U.S: Temporary Protection Status (TPS)

TPS recipients receive temporary immigration status, work authorization, and protection from deportation until it is safe to return to their home countries without a direct path to permanent residency status. Reference Librarians Catalina Gómez and Talía Guzmán-González speak with writer an journalist Marie Arana and discuss an excerpt from this historic recording. The episode also includes clips of García Marquez’s recording for our collection. The Archive of Hispanic Literature on Tape (AHLOT) is an audio archive of more than 750 recordings of poets and prose writers from the Luso-Hispanic world reading from their works.
