Living a Joyful Life at Marbridge

In 1953, Ed and Marge Bridges founded the Marbridge Foundation for their son, Jim, who had cognitive disabilities. Marbridge provides different levels of care, support and guidance that are customized to the individual. Over 200 acres of land, Marbridge has three communities— The Ranch, The Village, and The Villa — that house 236 residents who live and work on the property. In this episode of Everyday Superhumans Kyle and Charlie talk with the James Stacey, the CEO of the Marbridge Foundation, and Becca McPherson, Vice President of Development. They share how Marbridge strives to be ahead of its time, along with stories from Marbridge's many programs, and the joy of helping others live the life they deserve. Recognizing Legends with RecognizeGood

RecognizeGood is an Austin based foundation that honors Austinites who have gone the extra mile to make their community a better place. Through their Legends program an individual is selected for their outstanding work in community service and is granted a pay-it-forward donation from the foundation to a charity of their choice. For ten years and counting the foundation has recognized over 90 Legends right here in our community. In this episode of Everyday Superhumans Charlie and Kyle chat with a long time friend of the show, Joel Coffman who serves as the executive director of RocgnizeGood, along with Julie Webb a Legend herself for her outstanding work with Keep Austin Fed. The four of them discuss giving back to the community, the inspiring life of Julie's, and what it means to do good. Delivering Happiness with Meals on Wheels Central Texas

In our second remote interview of Everyday Superhumans, we chat with Thad Rosenfeld, VP for Communications of Meal on Wheels Central Texas, about how their program helps Texas seniors stay connected and independent. During these uneasy times, Meals on Wheels Central Texas, has been deemed an essential business and continues to deliver its life-sustaining services to thousands of homebound older adults and people with disabilities. Meals on Wheels Central Texas goes beyond meals with services for helping seniors with their dogs or cats, home safety repairs, respite care needs and programs designed to help adults with disabilities. Behind these services is a strong volunteer program whose members deliver warm greetings and much needed safety checks to homebound older adults. Due to Covid-19, the volunteer training program has been suspended.  During this time of social distancing, Thad Rosenfeld of Meals on Wheels Central Texas, reminds us to reach out to our seniors and let them know we are thinking of them and their needs now and always in this heartfelt episode.  More on Meals on Wheels Central Texas Find volunteering opportunities and donate directly to them over at their official website Learn how Meals on Wheels Central Texas is helping during the COVID19 pandemic Like them on Facebook Follow them on Twitter See what's happening on Instagram Be inspired with their many videos on YouTube Stay Superhuman with Everyday Superhumans Check out our new website!
