Church Leader Interview (How Biblically Inclusive is Your Church? #6)

For the last show in this current series, we're joined by Tom Putt who is the vicar at St John the Baptist, Burford. Tom shares about what he learned at a Living Out course and how he's been navigating the sexuality conversation in his own church. We also talk about the points of the church audit that are most challenging for him and how he hopes to embed biblical inclusion at the heart of his church's life together.
We have a dedicated Church Leaders area of the website where you can download the church audit to work through in your own context. You can also find out about Living Out courses in your area or get in touch with us to explore hosting one yourself.

A Huge Breath of Fresh Air

Thank you for candidly speaking and sharing about wrestling with God over sexuality. Thank you for instructing us, the church. We need to listen to these voices. Listen, listen, listen. I am trying to understand my 14 year old daughter. She came out and was baptized all in the same month. Our UK brothers and sisters are leading the charge for us Americans. Too much American Christianity has been co-opted by politicians, put in polarizing camps, and put up walls so real discussion becomes marginalized. Those of us who go to wonderful sincere churches know that the only thing we can share with each other is our brokenness and empower others who are discouraged. Thank you for modeling that and bring real discussion back to the Christian church writ large.
