Donovan Mitchell season in review and is shot distrubution change what is causing Utah Jazz playoff issues

Donovan Mitchell continues to get better for the Utah Jazz and he is the focus of today's Locked On Jazz player season in review. One of his primary weapons never got him going this year and their were areas where Donovan struggled. However, in the big picture Donovan Mitchell continues to improve and get better.

David Locke, radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider digs deep into what wins and looks at shot distribution and the league has made a dramatic switch. The defenses are taking away the rim and the offenses that win don't need the rim. This might explain why the Utah Jazz and namely Rudy Gobert have been less impactful in the playoffs.

Then Locke looks at the Brooklyn Nets and if there is anything on their roster that the Utah Jazz might be interested in acquiring. The Nets are interesting because they need players and don't have the mechanism to get those players.

Mike Conley season review, Atlanta Hawks trade prospects, Drivers and athletes

Mike Conley kicks off the season in review series as we look back at Conley's superb regular season and subpar postseason of action. At 34 years old Mike Conley showed to still be a very efficient and productive guard. At the same time at 34 his game is changing into a new style of players.
As the off-season trade market and free agency nears we begin looking at other teams rosters and what they might have to offer and what they might be interested in moving. Today we look at the Atlanta Hawks headlined by John Collins, DeAndre Hunter and Clint Capela, The Hawks would certainly have an interest in Rudy Gobert but some of the talk doesn't make a lot of sense.
David Locke, the radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider, takes a look at these two items plus the trend of drivers and athletes he is seeing in the playoffs

Danny Ainge Executive Part 3: The Deals Not Made. Jimmy Butler, Paul George, Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard

Danny Ainge Executive Part 3: The Deals Not Made. Jimmy Butler, Paul George, Anthony Davis and Kawhi Leonard

In a 3 part series a deep dive look into Danny Ainge career as a General Manager and what we can learn from how he might run the Utah Jazz.

Ainge's career has 4 stages and yesterday we look at the first two the rebuild to the Championship. Today we look at the two fleeces he pulled off that lead to a contender that could be a championship team.

The final signature of Danny Ainge's career in Boston is the deals not made. A different times the Boston Celtics were in the midst of trade rumors involving Jimmy Butler, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard and Anthony Davis. Non of the deals got done and it left Ainge with a reputation of not wanting to do deals unless he won dramatically, In retrospect is that true?

These deals also tells us one item that is very telling toward what the Jazz might do.

The common threads of Ainge's career are a great read of the moment, a variety in the types of players he acquires, added value that matters, perfect recognition of his talent, fleecing of other teams and he doesn't always hit on this draft picks but he doesn't miss.

David Locke, the radio voice of the Utah Jazz and Jazz NBA Insider brings you the daily podcast on the Utah Jazz.

Go deep

Great deep dives that flesh out what national media seem to miss about the Jazz (and other teams).

David is really a fantastic announcer and this podcast is a natural extension for his talents. He plausibly interprets the numbers. You don’t have to agree just enjoy the Jazz journey through the eyes of their gifted play-by-play guy.
