What if there was a local store, where you could find high quality, trendy clothes, for every member of your family, swimsuits, gifts for any occasion, accessories for your home, Bibles and other faith-based items, all in a warm, inviting atmosphere?

Well, such a place does exist right here at the lake! And the owner is with me today and we’re going to talk about Fishtales, a wonderful business that incorporates all of that and so much more! It is more than a store, it is a community destination.

Here at the lake, we love to shop and support local businesses. And when those businesses give back so much to the community, support other local businesses, artists and vendors, it creates such a win-win.

Elaine Wright is my guest today and we are going to talk about Fishtales, the past, present and future. Even if you’re familiar with Fishtales, you will learn something new, and if you’re not already a fan, you will be after today!

We’ll discuss some of the best selling items in the store, the new items and even some things to look forward to. And here’s something many of you may not know, there is a prayer request chapel inside the store, where everyone is welcome and amazing experiences often take place.

Steve Broadbent: A Life of Leadership & Legacy

Steve Broadbent: A Life of Leadership & Legacy

Welcome to today’s show! I’m excited for you to meet my guest today! Steve Broadbent has led an interesting life! With a degree in Nuclear Engineering, you would have expected a career in that direction. But Steve found a different path, that included 22 years in the US Navy, in both active and reserve, retiring as a Commander!

By chance, and some good luck, Steve found himself working in President George H.W. Bush’s campaign and was ultimately appointed by the President as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the Department of the Treasury.

After, and during, a long and successful corporate career, Steve served on the Johns Creek City Counsel and served on Fulton County Development Authority for several years. He was also appointed by Governor Kemp to the Board for the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, where he continues to serve today.

We will talk about these accomplishments in more detail, and of course, what lured he and his wife Mary to the lake. And continuing a life of service to his country and community, we will talk about what lured him to run for local public office in Greene County, as a Republican candidate for County Commissioner in District 4.

Community, Connection, Creation: The Making of Airabella Lake Oconee

Community, Connection, Creation: The Making of Airabella Lake Oconee

I’m sure you’ve heard about a new planned development named Airabella. Maybe you’ve seen the sign on Highway 44 and wondered what it was going to be? Or maybe you heard someone talking about it and are wondering what is the latest?

My guest today is Kevin Bryant; Kevin is one of the partners in the project, Airabella Lake Oconee. This is a visionary, mixed-use development designed to redefine living, working and playing at Lake Oconee! Spanning 137 acres, this community will consist of, not only residential living at its finest, but is set to feature chef-driven restaurants, a boutique hotel, lots of local retail and even a nine (maybe 10!) hole public golf course! It will serve as an invitation to embrace life and connections in a walkable outdoor environment, with year round programs, all the while fostering community and relaxation.

Kevin will talk about his extensive background in hospitality and hosting major events, what brought the project to land here at the lake and the vision that he and his partners have for Airabella. Why Airabella? He will tell us about that too!

And we will discuss what makes Airabella a unique blend of luxury, leisure and lifestyle, not just for the residents, but also for all of us here in the lake area. It will be a true destination of opportunity to live life to its fullest!
