The Politics of Business & Entrepreneurship

This week, I'm joined by Alexandria Alecci of Alecci Media. Alexandria's passion for cultivating a diverse, values-driven culture in her marketing agency really resonated with me and the core mission of Big Brave Business. From her international experiences shaping her unique perspective on work-life balance to her thoughtful approach to navigating strong opinions and ethics in business, Alexandria offered so many insights that I know will inspire our audience of purpose-driven entrepreneurs. Meet Alexandria Alecci: Alexandria Alecci is a dynamic marketing professional with over a decade of global experience, driving success for Fortune 500 companies, start-ups and high growth ventures all around the world. Her passion for storytelling and innovation led her to establish her own business, and she launched Alecci Media, a marketing consultancy and creative agency in 2020 at the start of the pandemic. She is also actively engaged in the business community, serving on the board of directors for the Phoenix chapter of NAWBO, the National Association of Women Business Owners. Using Your Personal Filter to Make Decisions in Life & Business

One thing I've questioned so much in the past few years is - "Why do we consider 'hard work' a virtue?'" Some of the hardest working people in the world are the least productive, least 'successful,' and least wealthy - and yet the wealthiest folks in the world don't work anywhere near as hard as those living under the poverty line. Where does the myth that hard work leads to success come from and why does it persist? My friend Lisa, a productivity coach, is back on the podcast today because her unique perspective about what 'productivity' even means follows this exact line of questioning and interrogation. About Lisa Lisa Zawrotny is a Productivity + Accountability Coach, founder of Positively Productive Systems, and host of the Positively Living® Podcast. She helps multitasking creatives and caregivers reduce overwhelm and boost productivity without burning out or sacrificing what they love. When she’s not sharing how to simplify and stress less, you’ll find her hanging out with her husband and kiddos traveling, watching movies, and acting like a rock star, or hiding from the world with an iced coffee and a good book, probably trapped under a cat. Lisa has current certifications in time + stress management, life coaching, and positive psychology. She’s helped hundreds of clients do less, live more, and breathe easier. Assessing Your Strengths for Business Leverage

When you spend a lot of time in the spaces online where people are discussing online business (especially typical coaching spaces), you'll hear a lot of "one-size-fits-all" advice - about online courses, memberships, high ticket offers, low ticket offers, focusing on one thing, and raising your prices, just as a few common examples. But the reality is that we are all totally different people and therefore, we have totally different strengths. Rather than trying to fit into some kind of mold for success, my guest today (Hannah Miller) is here to break down the value of really learning about your own strengths (like, through an assessment such as CliftonStrengths), and using what you know (and what you learn!) about how your unique brain works to create your own definition of success. About Hannah: Hannah is founding director of ‘sidekick’, a business built around enabling others to find their unique purpose. She enjoys communicating in all its forms and sees it is a powerful tool for development. Hannah is what you call a “Strengths - Based Coach”. She has been trained so that when you work together, you are given the tools to really get to know yourself: what you do best, what your contribution is - what your STRENGTHS are. Then you’re armed to make the right decisions and build a life that works for you. Radical Self Care for Leaders in Business

Y'ALL my friend Dr. Cherie is my guest on the podcast today and you are going to love her as much as I do. She is sharing all about radical self care and burnout for entrepreneurs - but this is not the conversation about burnout you've heard before. Dr. Cherie literally has a PhD in this stuff - her dissertation was all about what causes burnout and how to prevent it in human services professionals. Tune in to hear the conversation we NEED to be having around self-care. Meet Dr. Cherie: Dr. Cherie Lindsay-Chapman is deeply passionate about human services work. She has worked at various nonprofit organizations in DC, including domestic violence, transitional housing, drug treatment, incarcerated women's programs, and affordable housing. Currently, Dr. Cherie serves as the Executive Director of a domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking response organization in North Carolina, and also owns a consulting and coaching business focused on supporting Black and African diaspora human service professionals and social workers to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. With a PhD in Human Services, Dr. Cherie is committed to championing the power of kindness and community in this important work. She is the host of The Passionate Stewardship Podcast and she also owns the subscription box company, The Passionate Stewardship Box, with homemade self-care products. Making Big Brave Moves to Scale Your Business

If you could sit down with someone who runs multiple 7-figure businesses and just chat with them about what it's like, and how they got there, and what they're working on, would you be as excited as I was to be joined for this week's episode by my friend, Sarah Williams of Launch Your Box? Sarah is one of my favorite friends and mentors in business - and she's also an incredible client of mine! Every time we chat, she makes business seem easy and attainable, even though she struggles with her own imposter syndrome and scaling obstacles, too. In fact, this is what people say all the time about her podcast, Launch Your Box - every episode you listen to, you leave thinking, "Of course I can do this!" In this episode, we're chatting about balancing wealth and lifestyle, overcoming imposter syndrome, the importance of community and support, handling business challenges, future goals, and so much more. Sarah is definitely going to be back to talk about her new endeavor into running a local franchise as well, so stay tuned for her return! Meet Sarah Williams: Some people call Sarah Williams the "Subscription Box Queen." She runs multiple subscription-based businesses and coaches other business owners to start and scale their own subscription box businesses, as well. She's also the host of the Launch Your Box podcast, which is ranked in the top 1% of podcasts worldwide with half a million downloads and counting. Sarah is a best-selling author of the book One Box at a Time, and she is the new owner of a Primp & Blow franchise location in her town.
